Hi, I’m Sanuwar.

Oh, one more thing. My full name is Md Sanuwar Rashid. That “Md” at the beginning — it does not mean doctor. I know, I know. Many people think that. But no, I cannot write you a prescription. “Md” is just a short form of Muhammad. It is very common in Bangladesh. I just got stuck with it at the front of my name. So now you know, and we can move on.

I am an AI and automation engineer. I build systems that use large language models, intelligent agents, and data retrieval to solve real problems. I care about making these systems reliable — not just impressive in a demo, but dependable in everyday use.

Where I Come From

I grew up in Bangladesh, where I studied Textile Engineering. Then I moved to Sweden for a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. After that, I came to the United States and earned a PhD in Consumer and Design Sciences.

Studying in three different countries taught me a lot — not just from books, but from navigating different cultures, languages, and ways of thinking. I learned how to ask good questions, look at problems from different angles, and not rush to conclusions.

How I Got Here

I started my career in research and statistics. I was trained to design studies, analyze data, and draw careful conclusions from evidence.

Over time, I moved into software engineering — building APIs, automating workflows, and creating data pipelines. That experience grounded me in real-world constraints: things need to be fast, reliable, and easy to maintain.

Eventually, these two paths came together. I started building AI systems where research thinking and engineering practice both matter. That is where I work today.

What I Work On

AI Agents and Retrieval Systems I build systems that combine search, memory, and AI reasoning. These systems can answer questions, retrieve relevant information, and take actions — all in a way that can be measured and tested.

Machine Learning in Production I work on taking machine learning models from experiments into real products. That means training, deploying, monitoring, and updating models as things change.

Responsible AI I think carefully about how AI systems behave — making sure they stay within boundaries, follow rules, and can be audited. Good AI should be trustworthy, not just smart.

How I Work

A few things guide how I approach my work:

  • I define what success looks like before I start building
  • I treat every model, prompt, and data pipeline as something that needs to be tested and monitored
  • I move in small steps, check results, and adjust based on evidence

What I Am Looking For

I am most excited by work that sits at the intersection of AI agents, retrieval, and system reliability. I enjoy teams that take evaluation seriously and want to turn AI experiments into things people can actually depend on.
